The nova Mortis is the void equivalent of the exotic machine gun the thunderlord that got introduced in the dawning event.
The exotic quest for this gun is very easy and in my experience you can complete this quest within half an hour.
Too be honest, it takes more time and effort to get the quest than actually completing it.
Before you can get the exotic quest you will need to rank up the dawning record book the competitive spirit up to level 7 to get the xur’s tag.
Once you have this go ahead and open the present in the tower with this tag which will grant you the quest for the nova mortis.
The first step is to get 100 void ability kills, yep it sucks to be a Titan today. So start up your favourite farming mission. I recommend to do either the siege of the warmind or the Dark Beyond “we have woken the Hive” Mission.
Warlocks I recommend to use your explosion build with Shatter, Annihilate and Bloom and pair it up with nothing manacles to get an additional grenade or obsidian mind to build up your super quicker.
For Nightstalker I suggest to use Black Hole, envenomed and Lockdown with sealed ahamkara grasps for the double venom bombs.
And if you are a Titan use the armamentarium for the extra grenade or use the thagomizer and go on a melee rampage.
One you completed this step go back to the tower and you will be requested to complete the abomination heist. This can be done on any difficulty level so just save yourself some time and set the difficulty at 320 light.
Completing this will grant you the Nova Mortis!
