Hi guardians the dawning event brought us some presents at the tower, as you might have noticed there are 3 big presents that need certain tags to be opened.
These can be acquired by completing activities in the New record book the competitive spirit.
Achieving rank 5 will grant you Amanda’s tag, which will reward you with 2 random legendary engrams, a treasure of the dawning and a Jingle Horn for your sparrow.
Rank 7 will get you the Xur’s tag, which will reward you with 2 exotic engrams , 1 strange coin and the Songs of the Void quest for the Exotic Void Machine gun the Nova Mortis and after completing that quest it will also give you the quest for the solar exotic machine gun the Abbadon.
Watch my Nova Mortis and Abbadon quest guide if you havent got these exotics yet.
And the final rank 9 tag from Saladan will give you 50 motes of light and 3 Days of Iron Ornaments which you can use to change the appearance of your Days of Iron gear which can be obtained from your rise of iron Record book.
My suggestion is to grind for the Xur’s tag. You will get 2 random exotic engrams and the quests that can reward you with both the void and solar equivalent thunderlords.
If you are a collector and you like the gear go ahead and level up to rank 9 to get those additional ornaments. The other way to get the ornaments without buying them is wait for your weekly Radiant Treasures but the drop chances are rather low.
Again if you dont have a lot of time to play prioritize on getting the Xur’s tag at Rank 7.
