Hi Guardians welcome back, the winter event the Dawning has already arrived and as you can see the tower has been transformed into a winter paradise.
With this event Bungie has given us also a lot of free stuff, some of them are obvious and some of them are hidden. In this video I will show you all the free stuff that you can get so you wont miss out on any of this.
Let’s start with the obvious once you spawn into the tower you will notice that at the old Iron Banner gate there are now presents that will give you strange coins, armor materials, planetary materials and a quest called In the Presents of Friends.
This quest requires you to bring the presents that you got from the box, to Ikora, Cayde and Zavala. Once that is done, head to eva levante and she will reward you with two free consumables which will grant you a winter mask that will work for 30 minutes!
And dont forget to get the weekly Treasures of the Dawning which can grant you legendary sparrows, ornaments, the dawning gear, chromas , consumables and horns for your sparrow.
Now for the less obvious free presents, there is a legendary sparrow hidden under the Future War Cult room, in order to get this you will first need to go to the map banner fall to collect a ghost. Once you have the ghost head back to the spot and you will find the legendary sparrow the Lysander’s Cry.
Also there are 3 free emotes unlocked with the Dawning. In order to get them you will need to go to the emote kiosk down in the bar in the tower. There is a cool proposal emote and a No and yes emote.
With the dawning you will also get a new record book the Competitive Spirit, make sure to get to at least Rank 7 to receive the Amanda’s tag which will grant you legendary engrams and the Xur’s tag which will give you exotics engrams and it will also unlock the quests for the Void and Solar versions of the Thunderlord. If you are worried Level 7 is not a big grind, just play some strikes and do a couple of races and you will get there in no time. Also the quests for the 2 new thunderlords are very easy so dont worry too much about the grind. A review for these guns will come soon so stay tuned for that.
Outside of the game Bungie has released the two songs that comes with the Dawning Event, Track 1 is the Dawning and track 2 is named The Winter Voyage. See also my two Music Videos that should pop up now as youtube cards, where you can listen to the track and it also contains a download link where you can download the songs for free.
Here are some other tips, these are some free things you will get with the latest update.
Xur now sells heavy ammo synth in packages of ten instead of three for the same price! So here you go 7 free ammo synths for the same price.
He is also selling exotic shards again if you are in need of them. But unless you have a lot of strange coins I recommend you to watch my video on how to easily double your exotic shards with only some glimmer and motes of lights. You can find it in the YouTube card that should pop up now.
And the final tip is that there is a free skeleton key for your first Nightfall clear every week.
