Bane of the Taken Machine Gun

Swaye here with a Destiny video. Today we are going to talk about the Challenge of Elders Machine Gun the Bane of the taken!
I will give you an overview of my rolls on the Bane of the Taken, afterwards we are going to compare the Bane of the Taken with other Machine Guns in the game and I will give you my recommendations on the perks that you want for this Machine Gun. Lastly I will give you my final thoughts on this gun.

You can obtain the Bane of the Taken by playing the Challenge of Elders and Variks may reward you with this MachineGun.

My Bane of the Taken Machine Gun comes with :
Aggressive Ballistics
Smart Drift Control
Danger Close
Quickdraw
Braced Frame
Armor Piercing Rounds
Hot Swap

I have to say I am very happy with this roll. Smart Drift Control adds the needed stability to this gun and this is even further increases with Braced Frame. Braced frame does let me sacrifice a bit of the magazine size, but on the other hand it does let me keep the range in comparison with Hand laid stock or Injection Mold where stability is improved at the cost of range.
Hot Swap will also help with the accuracy when I switch to this gun, and Danger close is not an effective perk to me.

The strength of The Bane of the Taken is the high impact and high base range, but it does lack in base stability, aim assist and it has a low magazine size when you compare this with the other popular machine guns like Ruine Wake, the Raid Gun Qullims Terminus and Bretomarts Stand.

The Bane of the Taken is a unique machine gun, currently in the taken king this is the highest impact Machine gun that you can get in the game. This means that you can theoretically get a time to kill of 0.4 seconds if you hit 3 crit shots and with 4 body shots the time to kill is decreased to 0.6 seconds.
To compare this with the other popular machine guns in the Qullims Terminus archetype, these guns time to kill is 0.5 seconds if you hit 4 crit shots and 0.66 seconds if you hit 5 body shots.
So this gun can have the fastest time to kill in the game in the hands of an accurate player.

This all sounds good in theory, however in practise the opportunities to get the full potential out of this gun is very unlikely. Compared with the other popular machine guns the stability is very low and more importantly the magazine size is awfully low at 23 per mag.
So in theory you can get a 3 shot kill but the low stability wont allow you to do that reliably and the low magazine size of 23 does not allow you to go on a long killing spree, while others are running around with the popular machine guns that have an higher magazine size you can not afford to miss any shots with the Bane of the Taken, otherwise you will probably see yourself running out of bullets very soon while other machine guns still have bullets to spare.
You will see the same magazine problem in PVE as well, while the gun is very good in delivering high amount of damage to enemies the low magazine size limits the total damage output per clip, also the total ammo capacity is pretty low at 58 which further decreases your total damage output.
But this gun can do well in certain situations where you need to deal a high damage output in a limited time like the warpriest and golgoroth encounter. Since the nerf in Sniper ammo you will run out of sniper ammo in these encounters and in that case you can switch out the Bane of the Taken and continue your dps to the boss as much as possible.

So when you get one what are the perks that you will be looking for. The strengths of this gun is the high impact and the high range it got, so you want to look for perks where it will boost the weaknesses of this gun without having too much impact on the strenghts.
As the stability is lacking I highly recommend for the barrels Smart Drift Control, this will give a big boost to stability at the expense of range. Which is ok as the Range is already relatively high. In the first column you will be looking for Counter balance to make this gun as accurate as possible , since the purpose of this gun is to have as much dps output as possible you do not want to miss any shots and counter balance will help you with that.
Other than that Spray and Play is worth going for as you will be reloading this gun a lot when you use it.
For the second column you again will be looking for stability perks.
Injection Mold and Hand laid stock are both really good as this gives you a bump in stability but at the expense of range, which is ok as the range stat is already reasonably high.
Perfect balance and fitted stock are both good replacements if you dont have the above.
I would stay away from Smallbore and Braced Frame as the magazine size of the Bane of the Taken is already low so you do not want to lower that even more.
As for the last column you will be looking for Hidden Hand to boost the low aim assist of the gun. Other than that Persistence , range finder and feeding frenzy will be good.
Persistence is great for Pve where your shots become more accurate the longer it is fired, this is not needed for Pvp as you only need 3 to 4 shots to kill a guardian.
Range Finder will help you hit targets at a longer distance and feeding frenzy will help you reload faster after a kill, and you will be reloading a lot due to the low magazine size.

The Bane of the Taken is a fantastic Machine gun, this has one of the lowest time to kill and the potential to 3 shot a guardian is insane. However the magazine size is low and you do need to increase the stability to make your shots counts as much as possible.
As for Pve this gun is great for pumping out damage to a boss, especially for the warpriest and golgoroth encounters.
I am tired of using my Qullims Terminus all the time in Pvp and PVe and I am really glad that the raid gun is now replaced with my Bane of the Taken.
This has become my favorite machine gun in the game, if you got one I strongly recommend you to have a look at the perks. Do not shard it if this is lacking the stability perks, because that gun can still be awesome in Pve. Stability wont be too much of an issue when you are dealing with the warpriest or golgoroth or any boss which is not moving rapidly, so definitely try out this gun!

Destiny: The Nightmare TOP Rocket Launcher Review

The Nightmare Rocket Launcher

Swaye here with a Destiny video. Today we are going to talk about the Challenge of Elders Rocket Launcher the Nightmare! In my opinion this is one of the BEST Legendary Rocket launchers that you can get in the Game. I will tell you why later in this Video!
Firstly I will give you an overview of my rolls on the Nightmare, afterwards I will give you my recommendations on the perks that you want for this Rocket Launcher and we are going to compare the Nightmare with other Popular Rocket Launchers in the game. Lastly I will give you my final thoughts on the Nightmare.

You can obtain the Nightmare by playing the Challenge of Elders and you may be rewarded with this Rocket Launcher by Variks.

My Nightmare Rocket Launcher comes with :
Hard Launch, which gives you more velocity and blast radius
Smart Dirt Control
Battle Runner
QuickDraw
Heavy Payload to increase the Blast Radius even more
Field Scout
And
Grenades and Horsehoes

This is an almost perfect God Roll Rocket launcher for Pvp. Mine has Hard Launch and Heavy Payload to max out the Blast radius, Battle Runner would help me to get to my next opponent quicker and Grenades and Horseshoes is a must for any Pvp Rocket Launcher.
Ideally I would like to swap out    Battle Runner for Tripod to hold three shells instead of two and Javelin instead of Heavy Payload to boost the velocity so you will have a more balanced rocket launcher with high Blast Radius and high Velocity.

And these are also my recommendations for the Perks,
You want to have perks that boost the Blast Radius to make your rockets more lethal but you also want to have a high velocity stat so that the rocket travels faster to their target and lower the chances  for your enemies to evade your rocket.

So in the first column you will want to have Hard Launch or Warhead Verniers, both increase the blast radius and velocity.
In the second column you want to have Tripod to hold three shells so you wont need to reload that often. Every moment that you are reloading means that you are vulnerable to enemy fire and Tripod will help you reduce this risk.
For the Third column as mentioned before I prefer to have Javelin to boost the velocity, as you blast radius by this point will be nearly maxed out it will be important to make up for the rather low velocity.
And for the last column Grenades and horseshoes is a must for Pvp, for PVE you might want to have tracking.

I mentioned that this is the best Rocket Launcher that you can get in the game and let me explain why by comparing this with other popular rocket launchers like the Kingfall Raid Elulims Frenzy, the ash factory and the JLB 47.
As you can see  The Nightmare has excellent base stats, it falls into the harder hitting rocket launcher category and in this category it has the highest stat in Blast Radius , Velocity and Reload time, Stability and Aim Assistance are not really relevant for Rocket launchers. Only the Ash Factory which has an excellent reputation comes close to the Nightmare, but is even lacking in the reload time.

I do have to say that if you are looking for a more balanced Rocket launcher with a relatively high blast radius and velocity you might want to consider the JLB 47. This Rocket Launcher from the gunsmith can be rolled with Hard Launch, Heavy payload and Javelin! It wont max out the Blast radius but you will have a relatively high blast radius and a high velocity Rocket launcher, so if you have not got a good pvp rocket launcher yet I can highly recommend you to get this weapon package when arms day arrives.

The Nightmare has excellent base stats and with the right perks this can become an insanely effective Rocket launchers not only for PVP but also for Pve as well and the great thing is this is a legendary rocket launcher so that means it wont take up an exotic slot and that is always a plus!
Also the gun rewards from the Challenge of Elders are not that hard to obtain, with three characters you will have plenty of opportunities to get this Rocket Launcher.
And even if you dont get this Rocket Launcher the other Challenge of Elders guns are also very good. I already covered the God Roll Final Duty Pulse Rifle, The Conspiracy D type Shotgun Her Champion and the Techaun Rage Fusion rifle. Those are all great weapon to have, I will link those reviews in the description box below or you can find them as an info card in the top right corner!

Destiny TECHEUN RAGE Fusion Rifle Review

via IFTTT
Welcome Guardians, this is the YouTube Channel for all things Destiny! This channel aims to provide you news, gameplay and tips & tricks for Destiny. Join and Subscribe for more videos!

Techeun Rage

Swaye here with a Destiny Video. Today we are going to talk about the Challenge of Elders Fusion Rifle the Techeun Rage. I will give you recommendations on the perks that you want for this gun and we are going to compare the Techeun Rage with other  fusion rifles in the game. Lastly I will give you my final thoughts on the gun.

You can obtain the Techeun Rage by playing the Challenge of Elders and you can be rewarded with this fusion rifle by Variks.

My Techeun Rage comes with :
OEG scope
Red Dot ORA
Last Resort
QuickDraw
Rifled Barrel
Accelerated coils
Kneepad

Before I give you my recommendations on the perks lets talk a bit about this gun first. The Techeun Rage has a strange spot among the other Fusion Rifles. Let me explain, on the one hand you have the slow charge time but high impact fusion rifle like the Hitchhiker FR4 and on the other end of the spectrum you have the high charge rate but low impact fusion rifle like the Split Shifter Pro and then you have the Mid Charge Mid Impact ones like the Panta Rhei. Strangely enough the Techeun Rage is a Mid Charge but low impact fusion rifle. With a charge rate of 26 you would expect the impact to be somewhere around 80. However the impact of the Techeun Rage is 71, which is lower than the high charge rate low impact Split Shifter Pro, which has a Charge rate of 34 , 8 higher than the Techeun rage, and an impact of 74.
Normally you would expect the charge rate and impact to to be tied together, so if the charge rate is higher than the impact would be lower and the other way around. That is how weapon balancing works for example you would see a high impact weapon but then it would have a slower rate of fire or low impact but high rate of fire. So it is really weird to find the Techeun Rage in a Mid Charge Rate with a low impact, you would expect a mid impact.
In that case you might as well go for a high charge rate and low impact fusion like the Split Shifter Por or the Vortex, which has a higher Charge rate AND also a higher Impact. So stat wise there is no reason to choose the Techeun Rage.
The only redeeming stat for this gun is that the aim assist value of 80 which is the highest among the fusion rifles. But then again the Vortex has a higher charge rate, higher impact, higher range, reloads faster and is only 1 point down on the aim assist value.

So basically the Techeun Rage already starts at a disadvantage with his base stats compared with other guns. So what perks would you need, to improve this gun. Instead of utilizing accelerated coils and and makes this gun a lesser variant of the Vortex, I would recommend to focus on the range instead with Rifled Barrel. Maxing out the range will increase the bolt speed but this also comes with Aim assist and accuracy boost. Couple this with Hidden hand in the first column and Rangefinder in the last column and you will have a dead accurate Fusion Rifle that will feel very consistent.

I used Rifle Barrel on my Techeun Rage and this gun feels very consistent, it seems like the bolts feel very sticky. I also played with the Vendor Roll Hipfire, braced Frame, Vortex and I have to say that I have more success with my Techeun Rage.
The gun feels very good, the charge rate is acceptable and the shots are very accurate.

The Techeun Rage should not feel this good according to the stats, but strangely enough I have to say that this is a good Fusion Rifle and i would recommend it if you do not like the slow charging fusions like the Vacancy or the HitchHiker FR4.

Let me know about your thoughts on this gun, how do you feel it performs compared with the slower high impact or faster low impact fusions. I am really curious what your opinions are on the Techeun Rage and what perks you got on it.
