The Hero's Burden

Hi Guardians welcome back for another destiny in-depth review where I review exotics and legendary gear in order to give you a comprehensive understanding of the gear so you can play this game as efficient and effective as possible.

Today we are going to review the Iron Banner Submachine the hero's burden.
This is a fast firing submachine gun in the 900 rounds per minute archetype similar like the New Monarchy's Royal Dispensation II which is known for being the best submachine gun from the recent faction rally event. The Hero's Burden has better stats than the Royal Dispensation, it has slightly better range, handling, reload speed and aim assistance , it is only lacking a bit in stability.

Let's dive into the gun, the Hero's Burden has the adaptive frame, and the SLO 10 , SPO 28 Post and the SPO 26 Front sights which all increases handling speed and range in various degrees. I like the SLO 10 which increases the handling speed more than the others.
The other perks are High Caliber rounds and Drop mag which increases your reload speed but lose out on the ammo from the mag when you reload it. The final perk is Threat detector which increases reload, stability and handling when enemies are closeby.
High Caliber rounds is the obvious choice here, as it can throw away the aim of your opponent giving you a huge advantage in a gunfight.

So how does this gun perform in Pvp? Well it is a melting machine, high caliber rounds works so well on this gun, especially with this high rate of fire it totally throws off the aim of the opponent. And the gun is also surprisingly stable on the short effective submachine gun range, if you go beyond this range the gun will still be able to hit the target due to the high range stat but you will notice that it is much harder to hit your shots.
And the threat detector perk which increases your handling, stability and reload when an enemy is closeby procs very often due to the nature of this gun. Submachine guns is a close range weapon, and the threat detector perk couples very well with. Every time when there is an enemy within submachine gun range the threat detector perk procs helping me with my engagement. Ìt is hard to notice how great the benefits are, but knowing its active, already helps me mentally,  giving me the confidence to engage in the gunfight.
So how does the hero's burden perform against the popular antiope-d submachine gun. Well the Hero's burden time to kill is 1.00 second with 8 headshots and 8 body shots and this only decreases to 1.07 second with 17 body shots. So it does not punish you that heavily when you miss a headshot, as long as you hit your shots you will knock down the opponent between 1 and 1.07 second.
Whereas the Antiope has an optimum time to kill of 0.90 second with 10 head shots and this decreases by a third to 1.20 second with 13 body shots. Let me repeat that again, the time to kill decreases by a third, if you miss only one headshot.
Whereas the Hero's Burden is much more forgiving when you miss a crit shot, as long as you hit all your bodyshots your time to kill is 1.07 seconds which is only 7 hundredths of a second slower than the optimal time to kill of 1 second. So without a doubt the Hero's Burden is a much more consistent submachine gun, unless you are a super accurate player than you would want to keep on using the antiope instead.

I won't cover the performance of this gun in PVE, its ok , its a submachine gun, it works and that is all I have to say about it.

To conclude the Hero's Burden has great base stats to start of with and this is only complimented by high caliber rounds and the threat detector perk which procs very often due to the nature of the close engagements with this gun. It won't outperform the antiope in terms of time to kill, but it is so much more forgiving and as a result it is the more consistent gun over the antiope. I am going to give the hero's burden a B.
