Hi Guardians! If you haven’t got the chaperone yet because you are put off by the quest requirements you have come to the right video. I will give you tips and tricks for each step of this quest so YOU too can enjoy this awesome exotic!

The Chaperone is the Tex Mechanica exotic shotgun that fires not a buckshot but a slug.
In order to get the quest started you will first need to reach rank 3 in the crucible and then the quest will be available from Amanda Holiday.
The First step [Shindig in the Crucible] requires you to Defeat Guardians in the Crucible with The Last Word equipped.
I know most of the people are struggling with this step so here are some tips.
The important requirement here is the Last Word needs to be equipped. So that means that you do not have to get kills with the last word perse, as long as you are getting kills…. and you can do that with your secondary or heavy as long as you are having the Last Word equipped.
Also kills with your super , melees and grenades count as well.
When the last word is not equipped you wont be penalized for dying.
You also gain 3% progression per win, so if you are having troubles getting kills you can always unequip the last word until the end of the match and when it is clear that you will be winning the round just equip the last word back before the rounds ends. This will be a LONG process if you follow this method, you will need in total 34 wins to complete this step…. if you remember to equip the last word. I know I always forget to do this while I was working on the quest.
So I found the quickest and easiest way to complete this step for all of you and that is to wait until Mayhem Clash is the weekly crucible playlist. Jump into mayhem clash equip a machine gun and wait for heavy ammo and play it smart. Don’t push in too much on enemy territories but let them come to you as they won't expect you with a machine gun on the other side. If you manage to play it smart and don’t spam your ammo I usually make it to the next round of heavy so you can continue your killing streak..
When you are out of heavy ammo you should spam your grenades and use your super to gain additional kills. I was rocking the nothing manacles and I could spam grenades like every 4 seconds locking down the surroundings from any enemies.
This method allowed me to complete this step in around 8 matches, which is much faster than doing this in normal crucible mode.
The next step in the quest is to talk to Amanda and she will require you to purchase a “generous donation” for Tex Mechanica by giving 15k glimmer to Master Rahool.
Afterwards you will need to talk to Amanda again and she will give you the next step of the quest which requires you to either kill Level 40 Enemy Majors or get guardian kills with a shotgun. Don’t even think about the PVE rout, e that will take ages as the majors need to be level 40, so the majors in the basement near the patrol area on earth wont count towards the progression.
You are really better off by doing the crucible part, just equip your favorite shotgun and if you have the Universal remote that would be even better. Go double shotty and after 34 shotgun kills you will need to talk to Amanda who will give you the final challenge of the quest. Also dont worry about dying as this will not hurt your progression in the quest.
For the Two for the Road challenge, you have to take on the Shield Brothers in a special, 290 Light Strike playlist, with the Epic and Specialist modifier active and you will need to kill the shield brothers with a shotgun.
Bring your void and solar guns as you will be dealing with heavily shielded Psions and cabals. I recommend a void shotgun for the psions and gjallahorn for the solar shielded Cabals. And switch to your sniper when you are at the tank phase, with the specialist modifier active the tank will go down in no time.
When you arrive at the shield brothers I suggest to get rid of the adds first because otherwise you will be overwhelmed by them. Without the adds you will have plenty of room and space to mow down the boss with your shotgun.
Once you have defeated the shield brothers go talk to Amanda again and the final step is to wait
until the next weekly reset.
So if it is Tuesday already you will still need to wait for the next weekly reset. So wait until the upcoming Tuesday and again , go talk to Amanda for the final time and she will reward you with the Chaperone!
